21th January, 2020.
Last weekend the first iRacing special event took place. Nothing less than 24 hours to the mythical American circuit of Daytona. Our SimRacing guys achieved a more than meritorious fifth place in the Top Split of one of the most important international events of the year. We can’t forget of Fernando Guerrero, the team’s chief strategist, who kept an eye on our Mercedes AMG GT3 for the 24 hours of the race.
It is worth noting the great comeback of the pilots, who started from sixteenth place. The absence of errors and mishaps and a very consistent pace made us progressively climb positions. In this way we add a new great result in the special events of iRacing, after results like the following (all of them in the Top Split):
Our academy team also participated in Daytona, with two cars, both in the GTE category. The S2V Racing Academy BMW managed to finish in P6 of their split after overcoming numerous problems, with Lucas Campos, Gregorio Perez Sesma, Pablo Cortel, Nicolas Mateo and Israel Lopez. The S2V Racing Academy Ferrari was not so lucky, and the team formed by Jordi Gálvez, Andrés Marzal, Federico García, Diego Ferrándiz and Eugenio Fresneda was forced to quit after suffering an accident in the first curve of the circuit when the race was reaching its equator.
